The musician earned a Grammy nomination for best dance/electronic album for her critically-acclaimed 2018 debut album, Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides. Wilson appeared on all 12 of The Supremes’ No. 1 pop hits from 1964 to 1969, including «Where Did Our Love Go,» «Baby Love,» «Come See About Me,» and «Stop! In the Name of Love,» among others. Screenwriter and producer Joshua Safran confirmed the «devastating news» on Twitter on March 2.

Gregg Leakes, husband to Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes, died on Sept. 1, following a long battle with cancer. Patty Perez, the Internet sensation best known for appearing in the Jackass films, died Sept. 17 from health complications. Harris was also a theater veteran who played the role of Sarah in the original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company.

The two-time Tony Award nominee’s death was announced by the town of Montgomery, New York, where Wright resided with his family. The author and illustrator of the beloved children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar died on May 23. Williams’ manager, Peg Donegan, confirmed to PEOPLE that the actor died at his home in Los Angeles. The actor, best known for his role on the ABC soap opera Ryan’s Hope, has died. The writer died in a hospital in New York City as a result of cancer, her daughter Anne confirmed to The New York Times and The Washington Post. His other songs include «Calling All Hearts,» which has been featured in episodes of Nashville and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and «Bad Case of You,» which appeared in two episodes of Transparent.
But she was perhaps even more famous for her outspokenness and frequent brushes with controversy, including her 1991 boycott of the Grammys. She spoke openly about her personal struggles with mental health and abuse. O’Connor also routinely criticized the Catholic Church and its handling of sexual abuse accusations. In 1992, she tore up a photo of the Pope during her guest performance on Saturday Night Live, a move that dogged her career and her relationship with the media for the rest of her days. Additionally, TMZ reported there was nothing suspicious about Cowie’s death and no drugs were found on the scene, though a toxicology test will likely still be performed. The veteran director had a long career in theater, particularly in the U.K., where he was resident director at the Royal Shakespeare. He shot to stardom with Notting Hill which led him to direct projects such as the 2002′s Changing Lanes with Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson and 2006′s Venus, which earned Peter O’Toole a final Oscar nomination. Tompson had ties to both Walt and Roy Disney, dating back to her childhood.

- Bean enjoyed a long and healthy career in Hollywood with more than 100 TV and movie appearances since he began acting in the 1950s.
Plummer was married three times, the first to actress Tammy Grimes, the second to journalist Patricia Audrey Lewis and lastly to actress-dancer Elaine Taylor. He is survived by Taylor and his daughter with Grimes, Amanda Plummer. In addition to a statement regarding his passing, the musician, born Armando Anthony Corea, left a message of gratitude to his fans.

Reggae artist, producer and dub pioneer Lee «Scratch» Perry died at Noel Holmes Hospital, in Lucea, Jamaica, on Sunday, Aug. 29. In addition to announcing duties on Letterman, dead female celebrities he occasionally appeared on the show in sketches, including one where he spoke to the camera and addressed divorcees in an amorous fashion.
